A little something about me...
As the youngest outgoing from the start, I was trying to keep up with my siblings. I started taking dance classes at age 8. And played the lead in my first full length theatrical production at age 14, 'Help! I'm Trapped In High School!'. I attended Caddo Magnet High School from 1996-2000 and studied Theatre the whole time. There I starred as the clown and the prince in 'The Winter's Tale', Olive Madison in 'The Odd Couple' (female version).
I was a member of the Blues Brothers improv troupe, and I won CMHS Actress of the Year award for her performance of Juliet in Romeo and Juliet. I was also seen each morning as an anchor on the CMTV news and comedy television program. During my high school years, I started to perform in community theatre. I played the supporting role of the Nurse in Wrong Turn At Lungfish at Shreveport Little Theatre and as Babbette the French Porcelain Doll in Raggedy Ann and Andy at the East Bank Little Theatre.
I completed 10 years of dance experience, including jazz, ballet and pointe ballet before my high school graduation. In 2000 I moved to Baton Rouge, LA to attend Louisiana State University on an academic scholarship. I majored in Theatre-Performance with a minor in Communication Studies and graduated Cum Laude in 2004. While attending LSU my resume, experience and knowledge grew under the influence of such teachers as Jane Drake Brody, Jo Curtis Lester, and Nick Erikson.
I completed four years of martial arts training and was awarded a black belt in the Korean art of Tang Soo Do. I taught both martial arts and theatre to inner city children during summers and late afternoons during the school year.I was selected to be an intern at KSLA in Shreveport, LA the summer of 2002 where I worked beside reporters and news anchors daily. Some of my leading roles at LSU theatres were Emma in View of the Dome, Lainie in Two Rooms, Nurse in Bits and Pieces, I was also selected to play Flipote in Tartuffe directed by special guest Ellen Beckerman. I also was proud to have Leon Ingulsrud as a Directing mentor.
During this time I directed Words, Words, Words at Pass The Hat theatre and Accidental Death Of An Anarchist at LSU and i won an UTA award for Best Direction. In 2005 I began my film and television career and made my transition to New York City, where i now call home. Here in NYC I have been vocal training extensively with such teachers and mentors as David Zema, Catherine Fitzmaurice, David MacDonald and Page Clemons.
I have studied improv at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. I have been taking on camera classes at such casting studios as Donna DeSeta and House. I continuously study with Terry Schreiber, Peter Jensen and Peter Miner at T. Schreiber Studios and I am a member of Instant Shakespeare in NYC.
